Description
“When Three People Touch That’s an Agreement” is a deeply personal piece for me, inspired by the rich cultural heritage of West African masks that have been handed down through generations in the Caribbean. I sought to intertwine these ancestral influences with modern abstract elements in this painting to create a profound visual narrative.
The composition features three intertwined masks detailed and adorned with patterns. These figures are depicted in a moment of unity, their heads touching in a symbolic gesture of agreement and harmony. I used a palette of deep earthy tones and vibrant metallic colors to reflect the diverse and vibrant cultures of the Caribbean.
Through this piece, I aim to celebrate the power of connection and mutual understanding, drawing on the timeless wisdom and traditions of West African and Caribbean heritage. “When Three People Touch That’s an Agreement” is my tribute to the enduring spirit of community and the strength found in collective bonds.
