The Internal Kiss
2nd in the “Natural Magic” Series
“The Internal Kiss” is a visual meditation on self-love, reclamation, and ancestral guidance. In this piece, a woman is caught in a quiet, intimate moment with herself — eyes closed, lips gently pressed to her own reflection. Behind her, faint silhouettes of her ancestors rise like echoes in the paint, forming a protective and powerful presence that surrounds her.
This is not vanity. This is remembrance. A kiss that says: I see you. I haven’t forgotten.
Unlike the first painting in the series, “Her Natural Magic,” where the figure’s face was scratched out in parts — a nod to the way we often hide behind masks for the world — here, she is whole. Still, vulnerable. But whole. The kiss symbolizes the return to authenticity, a reconnection with the self that existed before the world told her who to be.
Her ancestors do not whisper. They insist.
They remind her that her magic is not something she performs — it is who she is.
