Description
Across the diaspora, African ancestors have played an important role in the formation of our identity. I painted the picture as a celebration of our cultures and as a reminder that although they may be different, there is a common thread that binds us all together. Mother Africa is depicted on the left, giving strength and pride to the woman on the right, who represents the African diaspora. A pendant shaped like Africa and Barbados hangs around the necks of these two women.
