At Oya Arts, we’re committed to providing free, regular creative experiences for children in foster care, children who have been adopted, and their families.
We’re partnering with organizations that support these families to launch free sessions: a space to paint, laugh, make friends, and simply be themselves, surrounded by others who may understand aspects of their experiences.
This isn’t a one-off project. It’s a commitment we’re building into the heart of Oya Arts.
Why It Matters To Me
I was adopted, and I grew up in a loving family with a very positive experience. But even positive adoption experiences can come with questions about identity, belonging and where you fit into your own story.
I know how meaningful it can be to spend time with people who understand those experiences without needing everything explained.
That’s why I want Oya Arts to be a space where young people don’t have to talk about adoption or foster care unless they want to. They can simply create, connect and enjoy being kids.
Because sometimes belonging starts with simply being in the same room.

Every child deserves a place to make something of their own, and every family deserves a room where nobody has to explain themselves. Your gift helps us build that room.
Where Your Gift Goes
- $10 puts a paintbrush, paper, and paint in a child’s hands.
- $25 helps cover art supplies for a participant, so everyone has the materials and freedom to make something of their own.
- $50 helps cover supplies and snacks for a session, because feeling comfortable and welcome matters too.
- $100 helps welcome a whole family, from the first brushstroke to the last bite of snack.
Any amount helps us welcome families back again and again, so friendships can grow.

Something wonderful is coming to Oya Arts this November, and we’d love you to be part of it from the very beginning.
We’re launching Creative Wednesdays, a relaxed midweek escape where you can unwind, try something new, and enjoy the simple pleasure of making something with your hands. Paint, collage, draw, journal, or finish that project you’ve been meaning to get back to. No set project, no pressure to be artistic.
Art supplies are included, along with unlimited hand-blended loose-leaf tea and coffee in fine china cups, plus a snack to keep you going. Choose a 90-minute session or stay for a full three hours.
Every booking helps us give back. As a Founding Supporter, you’ll get exclusive pre-launch pricing on Creative Wednesdays, and your creative time helps fund the free sessions.
