Description
If you go anywhere in Barbados, you will find coconut trees that are gorgeous and imposing. The coconut vendor who stands ready with his cutlass to quench your thirst can be seen walking through town or driving along the highway. Many of us will be celebrating our 55th independence anniversary with coconut dishes, conkies, sugar cakes, and much more.
I decided to paint this piece to capture the pure joy that this humble fruit can bring. Although it’s unsure how it ended up in Barbados it is believed that it ended up on the island by way of its floating fruit. I hope you enjoy this Art print
